Celebrating our first Christmas in style!

Celebrating the very first Christmas in our new fantastic home at 14 Regent Street St James’s, simply had to be a special occasion. Years of planning our new flagship store, followed by the unveiling and glamour of our press launch back in September – meant celebrating Christmas in style was a must!

Regent Street Lights

With the big day fast approaching, and in order to hit the very special St James’s lights switch on in mid-November, we set about working on ideas to transform the store for the festive period. Naturally, we had to involve our friends at Dolce & Gabbana, so a takeover in true Sicilian Christmas market style was the plan, featuring the exciting new range of ‘Sicily My Love’ kettles, toasters and citrus juicers, in stock for the very first time this Christmas. The striking window display celebrated the joining forces of two creative Made in Italy brands, and since, has even made an appearance as the hero of Smeg’s 2017 Christmas card during London’s snowy weather!

Christmas Decor

Next it was the tree, the Christmas music, the presents – all in time for the famous Regent Street lights switch on evening in mid-November. Remaining windows were dressed to reflect the modern London skyline theme with a Christmassy Dickensian twist. Twinkly lights installed, large snowflakes suspended seven meters in the air, and of course a sprinkling of snow over the headlights of our very own SMEG500 fiat drinks chillers – arranged in Italian Tricolore completed the look.

Festive Food

But, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the food now would it? And then add the Italian’s into the mix. Our in-store team has been looking after customers during late night shopping evenings, with freshly baked mince pies, and even prosciutto and fig stonebaked pizzas, prepared using Smeg’s iconic stand mixer and state of the art ovens. Visitors have also been partial to a spot of cheese and wine tasting from the Smeg family farm, Montecoppe. Warming mulled wine and a freshly prepared coffee or two has, too, been the order of the day.

Visit us in store to find our more about the seasonal appliance offers available or pick up a Christmas hamper, the perfect last minute gift idea. Finally, the team have been answering all your questions around how best to cook your turkey – here’s one we prepared earlier if you’d like some hints or tips!

Buon Natale one and all.
