Sicily is My Love – A Stylistic Collaboration
The latest collaboration, ‘Sicily Is My Love’ was unveiled during the Milan Design Fair, Salone del Mobile di Milano 2017. Like the fridge, the new small appliances are also adorned with Dolce&Gabbana’s signature decorative style, bringing together two great Italian houses of style and innovation.
The Essence of Sicilian Culture
Toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers are all decorated with typical Sicilian decorations such as citrus fruits, framed in triangular motifs called crocchi. There are also delicate floral motifs inspired by the coasts and landscapes of Southern Italy and images of fascinating Mt. Etna. Other design inspirations for the Sicily is My Love collection include ornamental friezes, picturesque ruins of the Greek temple of Castor and Pollux in the Valley of Temples, trinacrie and cartocci, a decorative style similar to acanthus leaves.
All symbols are resonate with Sicily, home to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
